A useful tip

Last week I spent some time on the phone canceling credit cards. One set of our cards were lost on a business trip. Fortunately, I had mine handy, so I was able to notify the credit card companies.

This task would have been far more difficult if I had lost my cards. However, a simple, preemptive solution would be to make a list of your cards’ last four digits and the phone number to call. Then, store the list someplace easily accessible (an office drawer or online email account for instance).

Two internet millionaire stories

Dosh Dosh analyzes two recent internet successes. The stories are interesting and inspiring.

Whateverlife.com is run by a 17 year old who makes up to $70k a month from advertising.

Markus Frind, owner of PlentyofFish.com a dating site, earns millions also from advertising.

An interesting definition of “justice”

EconTalk for May 07, 2007, featured John Allison, CEO of BB&T Bank. BB&T Bank has taken a public stand against eminent domain abuses and they promote old fashioned values. Their description of justice is particularly interesting. It sounds like a good way to promote hard work.

Justice: “Those that produce the most should receive the most.”

Ali G’s Perspective on Economics and Selling Stocks High

Principles of economics, translated

I’ve never seen the standup economist live, but I expect he’s pretty funny judging from this video.
