Goals for the new year
For 2008, I will continue creating a resource where people can learn how to build wealth because greater wealth can enrich our lives, freeing us to pursue our dreams.
Over the next year, On Financial Success will:
- Continue to offer something different than the majority of the personal finance blogs out there. Please follow along and contact me with any feedback about what is and what isn’t working.
- Attract new readers, not just from existing pf blogs, but from other sources. I want to spark the interest of people who aren’t concerned or knowledgeable about their finances.
- Flesh out the site, offering how to’s, innovative ways to learn about personal finances, and creating a more complete experience much like books which have a clear beginning, middle, and end.
Personally, I would like to see On Financial Success’ stature grow in the personal finance community. I plan to increase my visibility by:
- Viewing wildly successful blogs like The Simple Dollar and Get Rich Slowly as inspirations—not competitors.
- Regularly guest blogging for pf blogs, but also off topic blogs so I can inspire more people to control their financial destiny.
- Continuing to comment on blogs. I don’t want any of my successes to cause me to withdraw from the greater dialog.
You don’t have to wait until ‘08 to make positive changes
What steps are you taking to improve your financial life in the new year? Whether you are going to get out of debt, buying a house, or simply starting to learn about investing, it is important that you start now before it is too late.

I think viewing Trent and JD as inspiration or such is a good idea. Setting out to beat someone else’s blog rarely makes for an exceptional blog…

It’s also quite hypocritical when one is trying to explain the benefits of economic freedom. Unfortunately, envying others’ successes is a common human trait, one few of us are immune to.
